According to City of Irvine document, the project entails a five story building with a total of 280 apartment units (Size of units ranges from 623 to 1,276 sq ft). Out of the 280 units, 29 units will be affordable units for very low to moderate income levels. The project site is 3.56 acres. The project will have a total of 424 parking spaces. This picture update pertains to the Equity Residential Apartments I residential project which is located at the intersection of Alton Parkway and Millikan Avenue in the City of Irvine's IBC. The under construction project is also near the popular Diamond Jamboree plaza. This picture update pertains to the Avalon Irvine Phase III residential project which is located at the intersection of Alton Parkway and Millikan Avenue in the City of Irvine's IBC. The under construction project is also right across the street from the popular Diamond Jamboree plaza. Immediately near the intersection of Harbor and Katella, there are three large projects under construction including this one. There is a construction crane operating and the crane can be seen as far as from the Tustin train station. The Metropolis project is located on 2500 Main Street. According to the Togawa Smith Martin architect's website, this project is a mixed use development that will have a total of 457 rental units. From the rendering, it appears the buildings range from having 6 to 7 floors. By: Chad Kim I had the opportunity to travel on 1st Street in Santa Ana and at 1st & Newhope there is a buffered bike lane that has a bright green demarcation near the intersection to provide more awareness to all users of the road. This is exciting especially the buffer. Check out the picture below: Picture taken: 09/23/2015 By: Chad Kim According to the Planning Commission agenda from the City of Irvine's website, two large projects are on the item in the agenda for the September 3, 2015 meeting. Both large projects are in the Irvine Spectrum area. One project pertains to R.D. Olson Development's proposed 14 story hotel tower. A prior post on the proposed hotel project shed light on this project. The accompanying report to the agenda item sheds further light regarding this project. According to the report, the maximum height of the proposed hotel tower is 169 feet and 6 inches: The second item is Irvine Company's proposed 20 story office tower at 400 Spectrum Center. According to the documents attached to the agenda, the office tower will have the same type of design as its under construction neighbor, 200 Spectrum Center. The proposed office tower has a proposed height of 323 feet and 4 inches. The 200 Spectrum Center tower is also 323 ft tall and is currently the titleholder of tallest building in Orange County. The 400 Spectrum Center project also would entail providing 1,313 parking spaces. Rendering:
By: Chad Kim According to the City of Anaheim's "Anaheim Development Activity" webpage, there are two proposed hotels within the Anaheim Resort District. From Case Number: DEV2015-00075 entails a proposed 5 story 75 room hotel at 1100 W Ball Road. This project also proposes two underground levels for parking. Map: 1100 W Ball Road Source: Google Maps From Case Number: DEV2015-00094 entails a proposed 12 story hotel project that totals to 466 hotel rooms. This proposed project is located at 1775 S. Clementine Street. According to the OC Register, the proposed 12 story hotel project will be a four-diamond JW Marriott located at the Gardenwalk mall. The hotel is proposed to be built on a vacant lot that is next to the mall. The article also states the developer has plans for a second four-diamond hotel at the Gardenwalk mall, however no hotel operator has been named yet. This news brings much new activity to the under performing mall as a recent OC Register article stated the House of Blues which is currently at Downtown Disney will be moving to the Gardenwalk mall. Update on Garden Grove's Site C Project Further south, in the City of Garden Grove, OC Register states original location of Joe's Italian Ice will be indefinitely closing operations on September 1, 2015 to make way for a new luxury hotel. This lot that includes the soon to be former Joe's Italian Ice is a part of what is known as Site C. OC Register states Site C has the potential for three hotel buildings all totaling to 769 hotel rooms. Project Location (Source): By: Chad Kim Update: According to the Orange County Business Journal, this proposed project consists of a 15 story office building. --- Looking at the City of Anaheim's Planning Information webpage, Master Number: DEV2015-00084 indicates a "conceptual development review for a new office tower". This is located at 2400 E Katella Avenue in Anaheim's Platinum Triangle District. Currently, there is an existing 12 story office tower known as Stadium Towers Plaza. Accordingly, the proposed tower would be the second office tower in the Stadium Towers office complex. Details about the height and amount of floors are not yet released.
