This new project is ideal for being a Transit Oriented Development (TOD) as it is close to the Fullerton Transportation Center (radial distance from station is under 0.5 miles) which provides Amtrak and Metrolink services and Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) bus service including the Bravo! a rapid bus service.

Update: The most recent update from this blog showed the Site C site was used as a storage space for the construction of the Great Wolf Resort: http://orangecountydensedevelopment.blogspot.com/2015/01/garden-grove-update-site-c-project.html

OC Register reports that the existing Joe's Italian Ice will be closing late this summer to make way for the upcoming hotel project (Source).

Previous post below:

Back in November 2012, OC Register reported about a project in the City of Garden Grove that entailed the construction of a total of three hotels on a site located at the intersection of Harbor Blvd. and Twintree Ln. The project overall was supposed to include about 769 hotel rooms, 4-5 restaurants, and conference space along with 2 parking structures.

The tallest building (to the left), among the three, was to rise 19 stories with around 300-400 hotel rooms (Source: OC Register).

Orange County Dense Development visited the site and found part of the fence covered with blue tarp with the sign Turner. Might this project be moving forward? If so, the next question is whether the project will still include three hotels as shown in the rendering above, or will there be modifications? Stay tuned.

According to the OC Register, the Great Wolf Resort, located in Garden Grove on Harbor Blvd., includes an indoor and outdoor water park along with about 600 hotel rooms, is reported to break ground this Spring 2014. This came amid long delays in moving forward with this project, as reported by OC Register, the project was introduced in the year 2010, and was expected to be completed in 2012. In light of the project now moving forward, the revised expected completion date falls on 2015. This ambitious goal is not a coincidence, as this is also the same time as Disneyland's 60th anniversary.
