Update: It was brought to my attention from a reader, who provided an Orange County Business Journal article, that City Ventures has sold the project site to Western Realco. The new developer's are aiming to construct a business complex consisting of office and industrial buildings (Source).

The Edge, formerly known as 'The North Fullerton Mixed-Use Village Specific Plan', is a proposed mixed use development in the City of Fullerton where there may be up to 1,142 residential units.

According to the City of Fullerton's webpage and Initial Study report (IS), The Edge is a proposed mixed use development located in North Fullerton at 4300 N. Harbor Boulevard at the intersection of Harbor Boulevard and Lambert Road. The developer is City Ventures. The project site is 47.7 acres. The proposed project proposes up to 1,142 residential units (300 high density apartment units and 842 medium density residential units such as live/work and shopkeeper units) and about 230,190 square feet of business park/industrial, office, and commercial/retail. In addition, the developer also proposes to reuse an existing 42,000 square feet building.
Prior to this proposal, the site was bought by Beckman Instruments in 1951, and operated instrument manufacturing until the year 2010. Throughout the year after, the building was vacated. As a result, the eastern part of the project site's soil became contaminated with Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and polychlorinated biphenols (PCBs). In light of this, Beckman Coulter, Inc. has been performing remediation activities to address the chemicals of concern. To be able to perform the remediation activities regarding the contaminated soils, the buildings were demolished in February 2014 except Building 1, as mentioned earlier, which is the former Beckman Coulter, Inc. Administration Building and is located along Harbor Boulevard. Building 1 may become a Fullerton Historical Landmark and the building will be reused.

The project also proposes two mixed use plazas and potentially a future transit plaza. From the City's website, the latest update of this project's status (March 2015) is the following: "The Application for this project is under review by Planning staff" (Source).
