Conversion of Industrial Building to Live/Work Residential near Arts District Proposed

537 Ceres Avenue is located in Downtown LA (DTLA) in eastern most side of Skid Row and is near the Arts District. 
The developer, Shimoshon LLC, is proposing to convert an existing warehouse/industrial building into a Joint Living and Working Quarters also referred to as live/work dwelling units for artists and artisans. The total units proposed is 20 dwelling units each ranging from 490 to 800 square feet. A total of 12 vehicle parking spaces will be available at the project site, but each unit will not be assigned a parking space. The report also states, if there is a need, the building can be converted back to warehouse/industrial type use. ​​

The above site plan shows the project site encompasses not only 537 Ceres, but also 539 Ceres, and 542 - 544 S. Gladys Avenue.
