Construction Photo Update on 8th and Olive

This is an on-going photo update of documenting the construction progress of the 8th and Olive project. Construction on 8th and Olive tower, from Carmel Partners, continues as the facade is continuing its upward climb. The tower's floor count is about over 75% complete. As shown in the above photo, the tower looks very slender when looking northward up Olive Street.

Pictures taken 03/27/2016:

An LA Metro bus travels northwards on Olive Street. Here you can see 8th and Olive making a presence on the DTLA skyline. Another note-worthy item found in this picture is the buffered bike lane. 

Here is a more closer up view of the tower as seen looking northward on Olive Street before 9th Street. 

This is at the intersection of 9th and Olive where the closer building is LEVEL from Onni Group which is a recently completed high rise furnished apartment. For more information, check out their website. LEVEL is near the 8th and Olive project. 

As shown in the photo above, the rectangular building sits on top of a parking podium and the longer side of the building faces Olive Street. 

Another view of the parking podium. It appears the parking podium will be covered with a metallic decorative screen mesh to improve the aesthetics. 

Here is a look at the top of the parking podium and is the southern portion of the parking podium. This appears to be the pool area. 

As shown in the previous photo, the top of the parking podium, south of the tower, is the pool area. The facade of the ground level is being installed. 

8th and Olive project is right across the street from Whole Foods and 8th and Grand, an apartment also from Carmel Partners.
